British F4 Challengers Bidding To Catch Sharp At Snetterton This Weekend

Snetterton hosts the third event of ten in the 2023 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA this weekend, 20/21 May.

Twenty-two racers will be on a charge for points in the three races being held at the Norfolk track, equalling the record grid for the current era of British F4.

A technically demanding track, the Snetterton 300 configuration includes two long straights providing plenty of opportunities for drivers to slipstream. Carrying momentum and precision through the infield section is vital for a strong lap through the 12 corners.

Five different drivers have won in the first six races of 2023: Louis Sharp, Noah Lisle, Kanato Le, Dion Gowda and James Higgins. An impressive 12 drivers have taken podium places, with four different drivers setting fastest laps, underlining the highly competitive grid.

Despite not featuring on the podium last time out, Louis Sharp’s consistency helped extend his lead in the standings. Team-mate Noah Lisle returns after missing the Brands Hatch races hungry to challenge Sharp at the top of the standings.

Local driver Will Macintyre from Norwich won the Pirelli Hardest Charger award at Donington Park having gained 18 places in races one and three, and took two second-place finishes at Brands Hatch, so a home win is sure to be his goal this weekend.

Gustav Jonsson was top Rookie in two of the races at Brands Hatch and heads the Rookie Cup table, but he, Gabriel Stilp and Josh Irfan have now all taken two wins apiece, so it’s tight too at the top of the Rookie’s Cup.

Qualifying starts at 13:00 on Saturday with Race One taking place at 17:00. The lights go out on Sunday at 12:05 for Race Two and for Race Three at 16:25. Both races on Sunday are live on ITV4.
